BMcF wins order for Portugals largest wind farm |
| |
 |
As a primary sub contractor to Vestas Celtic Wind Technologies, BMcF have secured an order to supply all the processed steel plate for 26 steel towers for Enersis in Portugal. The order for 4500 tonnes of plate in qualities EN10025 355ML and J2G3 is being delivered to the Campbeltown, Scotland plant of Vestas over the next 3 months. |
|
| |
The Towers are supporting the new Vestas V90 turbine, each one capable of generating 3MW of Renewable Energy. The plate is being processed at our Stoke on Trent site and delivered on a JIT to Campbeltown. The plate was primarily manufactured in Corus plants in Scunthorpe and Motherwell, in sizes up to 13m x 3m and thickness up to 38mm. First deliveries are due to leave the Campbeltown docks by the end of November. This is the largest single order that BMcF have undertaken and demonstrates the resources available to tackle a project of this size over such a short period. Picture of V90. in the Jebel Ali Free Zone, the stock of
large area plates will cover a wide range
of ASTM, ASME, EN, BS, and ABS specifications
including high yield structural, boiler,
